Hello friends. Two things.
1. This morning I discovered a film called "Bella Vita". I'm not going to try to explain it because I want you to watch the trailer first, which is linked below. It's absolutely beautiful and explores the themes of self-discovery, family, and culture. Have a look!
2. After watching this film I wanted to do something creative so I decided to do some hunting for texture and surfaces. These little projects are simple but allow me to take a break from my constant portrait shooting! Here are some quotes about texture that are pretty neat, as well as a collage of certain textures and surfaces that I was drawn to photograph today.
I am inspired by anything beautiful. Sometime it's a pair of eyes or flowing gorgeous hair, other times it's the sky or a sunset. I've been inspired by supple skin or the texture of a soft shirt.
The past becomes a texture, an ambience to our present.
I search for the realness, the real feeling of a subject, all the texture around it... I always want to see the third dimension of something... I want to come alive with the object.
The web, then, or the pattern, a web at once sensuous and logical, an elegant and pregnant texture: that is style, that is the foundation of the art of literature.
